Rain bring it on!

We have been getting some good rain this week which is so nice after not have none for awhile! It rain so much yesterday and last night Josh had a hard time getting in. He really shouldn't of crossed the creek but he was tired so he took the belt of the fan to the motor and went through. He said the water went up to the hood of the truck(f-150). Well he made it though and so did the truck and everything is ok! The cow are one of our worries at times because they may get stuck on the other side of the creek. It not really bad its just most of them have calf's so that is a concern and then if our milk cow is to get stuck on the other side! Praising God that our animal are doing good if anything I know the cows are liking the rain because it is making the grass grow again.
The cooler weather sure has put me in the creating mood weather it is a food dish or some craft it sure is nice.
We have been going to livestock auctions more and it is nice because that in how we fit in a little family time as well. The kids enjoy seeing the animals. Joseph was so cute tonight he was mooing. I am so blessed to have my little ones and I am grateful.

A day of cutting and freezing peaches!

A friend of mine gave me some yummy foods today and one of them wash peaches. They were ripe as could be and were ready to go. They tasted so good. I have not had a peach that tasted that good in a long long time. I ate at lest 3....oh my...LOL I ended up cutting the bad spots off as well as the skins. Then I cut into thin slices and froze on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. After freezing awhile I took them off the sheet and baged the slices in to gallon freezer bags. I ended up with about 3 gal. bags. I just want to say I thank God for the Blessings of having these peaches. They will be great for smoothies, pies, cold treats, ect.

Tuesday

Today was off to an early start to get our hay up. We were able to get a couple loads in before it got too hot. Joseph was tired and ended up needing to go to sleep so that made our day come to an end. But there will be sunny day's all week so we are in no rush to get it done in a hurry. So tomorrow with be another early start.

Well the big thing lately is Back to School. So I went and checked out a curriculum and was seeing were Savannah is at so we can start planning out some school work. I am soo excited about how well she is doing. She is a lot further than kids her age from what I can take and from what others are telling me. She has been enjoying doing some school work. Joseph has been using sign language and trying to say more words too. He is such a cutie. One of his favorite songs is "If your happy and you know it". He gets really excited and gets into it....LOL

Hot summer day's! =0)

Oh I so have been bad at keeping up with my blog... shame shame on me LOL. Things are going great around here. For a little over a week now we have been doing our second cutting of hay. It has seem to take longer but it has been so free of rain it's not bad to were the hay is going to get all wet. Josh has been working to hard at work and then coming home and working hard. I think after this cutting we should take a family day for sure. We all are going to need it. We kinda got one today. Josh wanting to get in at least one good day of sleep before we hauled in they hay so he was going to sleep most of today. Well other plans ended up happening. Our power went out and it sure got hot in the house quick. I had just had put Joseph down for a nap before the air went off and he started to get hot. So Josh and I decided to go to the creek and cool off. We knew we could call our house later and if the answering machine came on the power would be on so that we knew it would be ok to return. Well we went to a local gas station got some ice cream and headed to the creek. By the time we were getting out of the car Josh called the house and the power was on but we were still going to go enjoy ourselves for a little bit!!! God sure knew we need some family time together! He is wonderful in taking care of every need we have! I praise God for all his goodness and unending love!!!!!!!

Hay cutting the week of May 24-29

Josh was working hard at getting the hay cut, raked, bailed, and then hauled in before the rain came back through. I want to start off with saying God sure had his blessings on us this year I want to say this was one of the best cuttings ever. God was in action! Not to say there was a whole lot more bail than normal just that things work out really smooth. We did hire some one to help for a few hour loading the bales of hay. We do square bales for the moment so it is done by hand and it is hard work and take some time to get it done. We were able to get them all out of the field in one day. Josh worked extra hard at getting the hay cut and still going to work with very little sleep. I love him so much and grateful for his hard work! I enjoyed seeing him go out on the tractor heading out to the filed with a Joyful heart it was great! Oh and the kids did wonderful out there when we were bringing it in. Of course they may had a few off moment but over all I was really pleased with how they behaved.

Summer is here!

It sure has been warming up now. It is nice for our garden for sure after all that rain we got for awhile. Josh is in the middle of cutting hay this week. Sice it warmed up a bit I ask Josh to get the kids a little pool and they love it. Joseph is cutting his "I" teeth right now so he has been having fevers and not happy about it. But he still gets his moments were he wants to get up and play for awhile.

Joseph is 1 years old now and he is showing how big he is in many different ways. We had a simple birthday by just having a good dinner with cake and ice cream. My friend laughed at me when I told her I made him a carrot cake with flax seed and wheat germ. She told me that on there birthday they should have yummy fating cake not all healthy.......LOL He didn't seem to mind but he did like the frosting with the sprinkles the best! I was really nice because my in-laws came out and they got to spend his first birthday with him! We all enjoyed having them out here and spending time with them even though it rain just about every day they were out here...LOL go figure.

A little of what's going on.

This weekend has been a really good. We were able to get just about all our plants planted. I'll say we planted about 120 plants. There were about 72 Roma tomato plants. I really like that kind for making salsa and sauces. We had less than 50 last year and I just was not able to can enough to put away for the winter. That's why I have so many tomato plants. We really like having chili, pasta, and salsa with our tomatoes. I am trying some new peppers this year, they are Anaheim. I also have a few bell peppers. Were I bought my plants they only had a few left. I do hope to get some more bell peppers when they get them in. We still need to plant some more seeds like squash, melons, green bean, and corn. Our potatoes are getting big already. I didn't get a chance to put in lettuce or spinach yet but it may be too late, I need to look it up. Josh bought me some black berry and blue berry bushes this year and we are needing to get them in here soon.

Our baby rabbits are getting so big. The older set by mommy doe have there eyes open and are hopping around. They are so cute! They should be starting to eat some grass and hay soon. We should be having some more baby rabbits with in a week or so. I am so excited!

Joseph is turning one next month and it is so hard to believe. We are thing about having a BBQ for his birthday. Savannah has been doing really well she enjoy singing a lot. She learn Our God is an awesome God in sign language. She looks so cute doing it and she loves to perform too!

Josh has been hard at work like always. It seems like he always has a few projects to work on so he is never is board. He is getting close to having our farm truck ready for hay season.
